The Technology and Agrarian Development group studies science and technology in the context of international development. From hunger to the threat of war, from contaminated food to environmental degradation, every social problem involves science and technology, either as cause or cure. Science and technology thus are social phenomena as much as they are complex technical and material systems. Our work is interdisciplinary, with strong inputs from Development Studies, Science and Technology Studies (STS) and anthropology.
